Work Hours:  Friday – Sunday 6:00 am – 6:00 pm

Summary: Operates and maintains CNC machines while ensuring quality parts are being manufactured to print specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols
  • Operate CNC machines
  • Change tooling as needed
  • Perform in-process inspections to maintain overall quality of machined parts
  • Input accurate part count transaction values to current job sequence
  • Prepares each job in accordance with a job order, verbal, or written instructions
  • Make tool changes and offset adjustments as required.
  • Verifies accuracy of machined work pieces against blueprints or engineering drawings by measuring dimensions with inspection tooling and gages
  • Loads bar stock or tubing in feeder tube
  • Adds coolant to reservoirs of machines and lubricates machine parts and ways
  • Cleans around work areas
  • Removes burrs or excess metal from machined parts
  • Fills out production paperwork and inspection procedures
  • Maintains production completion logs
  • Reports any discrepancies to immediate supervisor
  • Performs regular daily maintenance on equipment, tools, and gages and keeps work area in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
  • Complies with company policies and procedures giving special attention to safety regulations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications, Education & Experience Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of machine controls, axis of travel, machine configuration and machining capacity
  • Demonstrated ability to perform timely set-ups
  • Demonstrated ability to operate CNC machines and maintain the overall quality of machined parts
  • Must understand the importance of attention to detail
  • Understanding of basic blueprint reading and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Ability to read a micrometer and caliper
  • Ability to operate inspection equipment such as CMM, optical comparator and profilometer
  • Ability to use company ERP system (Shop Trak)
  • Willingness to work in a team atmosphere and displays a positive attitude
