Summary: The Field Sales Representative position is a key function within QA1’s OE Business Unit to increase sales leads, foster new and existing relationships, and explore various industries, trade shows and trade organizations. A successful salesperson must be able to effectively communicate with various customer teams including engineering, purchasing and management. A consultative sales approach will be important to successfully expand QA1’s growing OE business.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Sales role that will provide lead generation in early stages of the sales cycle, identify and qualify new opportunities, and respond to customer inquiries
- Research new markets/industries, utilize creative strategies to effectively prospect and cold call
- Customer visits and capability presentations
- Attend/exhibit at various industry trade shows
- Identify and engage in key industry organizations
- Engage with existing QA1 customers to ensure awareness of full QA1 products and capabilities
- Collect and analyze market and product data and relay to functional teams within QA1
- Strategize with Marketing to attract new customers, explore new markets and generate inbound leads
- Work with OE Sales Manager and Engineering to develop quote/negotiation strategy
- Provide all post-sale support to customers
- Achieve sales targets and report on sales performance
- Customer relationship management duties as specified
- Other duties as assigned
- Travel as needed to meet with customers and participate in tradeshows and events (approximate travel is up to 30%)
Qualifications, Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
- 5 years of related sales experience
- Technical aptitude to interface with customer engineering teams, identify and understand customer needs and translate into QA1 products and services
- Ability to interface with QA1 Operations and Purchasing Teams to ensure strong post-sales support to customers
- Experience with OE sales management is a plus
- Experience with different sales and negotiation techniques, pipeline management and CRM/ERP tools
- Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and related applications
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external parties
- Ability to work independently while contributing to the team’s success.
