Summary:

Responsible for developing industry leading user documentation for installation, maintenance and tuning of QA1 and Speedtech Performance products. You will work with the product development teams on new products to provide end user documentation in support of product launches.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Must have knowledge of vehicle suspension systems and ability to install like-products for test fitment and provide feedback to product development team.
  • Capture photos and video of installation of products to support development of instructions.
  • Develop instruction formats for both digital and hard copy distribution to provide a great user experience.
  • Maintain and update previously published technical materials and related documents with revisions and improvements as needed.
  • Transform photos and CAD data into appropriate images to communicate “how to” in the instructions.
  • Utilize others in the Customer Service and Marketing department to develop content for technical documents as needed.
  • Create technical documents and processes to assist with internal training for the Sales and Customer Service department.
  • Communicate regularly with the production and engineering teams to obtain relevant ETA information on prototypes and new products.
  • Continuously develops knowledge of the company's products and services, as well as the competition’s strengths/weaknesses, and understanding of automotive after-market industry trends.
  • Maintains product information and documentation in company ERP system.
  • Travel to Speedtech in St. George UT as needed to develop instructions for the products designed and manufactured in that location
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Education & Experience 

Required

  • Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
  • 4 to 6 years of related experience as a Technical Writer in the automotive industry or a closely related field.
  • Experience and/or training in vehicle suspension systems and installation of after-market products.
  • Experience using Adobe creative suite including InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator. Also, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Basic capabilities with CAD (Solid Works and or Fusion)
