Shift:  Monday - Thursday 3:30 pm – 1:30 am 

Summary: Responsible for setting up and operating welding machines to weld metal parts according to work orders, blueprint layouts, and verbal instructions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Regular and consistent attendance
  • Ability to follow all safety protocols
  • Maintain a 95% efficiency rating
  • Operate robot including loading and tacking parts in a robot fixture, and performing simple touch ups
  • Basic MIG welding
  • Weld cleaning (robot and manual)
  • Manipulates controls in an efficient manner to minimize waste
  • Follows blueprints to meet product specifications and maintain tight tolerances
  • Performs inspection of completed product in accordance with company quality standards
  • Maintains tools, gages, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner
  • Reports production discrepancies to management
  • Notifies management of equipment malfunctions, injuries, or safety related occurrences
  • Shows willingness to work in a team atmosphere and displays positive attitude
  • Contributes to a continuous improvement culture
  • Knows and understands company policies
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications, Education & Experience Required

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Welding technology certificate or four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MIG welding certification through AWS
  • Ability to weld with a welding rotator
  • Ability to start 50% of jobs with little or no supervision
  • Prior experience operating a forklift
  • Understanding of basic hand tool and power tools (wrenches, grinders, belt sander)
  • Understanding of basic blueprint reading
  • Ability to read a tape measure, height gage and calipers
  • Ability to use inspection gages such as verniers, scales, micrometers, and pin gages
  • Ability to use company ERP system (Shop Trak)
  • Willingness to work in a team atmosphere and displays a positive attitude
