4 UNIQUE USES OF QA1 INDUSTRIAL SHOCK ABSORBERS
QA1 Precision Products has partnered with industrial and OEM partners for decades, providing industrial shock absorbers and custom dampers for a wide range of applications. From heavy-duty agricultural equipment to power sports vehicles and everything in between, our team has helped develop entire motion control systems or complemented existing designs with our shock absorbers.
PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
Industrial shocks may not be the first thing you think of when picturing a children’s playground. In fact, you may not think of them at all. But we have worked with partners to develop and supply shocks with the perfect valving options to safely control playground carousels. By testing a variety of QA1 shocks and valving options, we were able to define the valving characteristics that allowed the equipment to spin freely at low speeds without rotating so quickly that it would be dangerous.
FOOTBALL TACKLE SLEDS
Once again, football practice fields may not be a setting that springs to mind when thinking about dampening and motion control systems. However, shocks are vital components in the design and use of a tackle sled. We provided our partner with a shock featuring our bleed adjustable piston rod to allow them to identify the correct feel required for their application. QA1 then used our dyno equipment to identify the force curve and resulting valving for their application. Once they selected the appropriate specs, we helped source and produce a cost-effective non-adjustable damper that fit their needs.
PERSONAL MOBILITY CHAIRS
Our company is deeply rooted in the world of motorsports. But you don’t have to be traveling at high speeds to want a smooth, comfortable ride. We worked with a mobility chair company to design, prototype and produce custom coil-over shocks to replace the gas springs that were used in their previous design. The result was a more robust product that offered a better customer experience.
AGRICULTURAL PLANTING EQUIPMENT
Planting crops requires more precision than you might think. We helped one partner develop a custom coil-over shock configuration to achieve the perfect planting depth. The shock helped the manufacturer smooth out the planter’s operation for more consistent results.
